Academic Writing in English

The Course

This is a dynamic course in academic writing. You will become better at writing reports, summaries and papers in English. You will gain a working knowledge of academic writing and improve your ability to structure written work.

Content

The course will focus on general as well as individual issues in academic writing in English. The participants’ current standard will be thoroughly analysed and reviewed. Through group work and class discussions the participants will share their experience and ask questions. During the course the teacher will gradually add material relevant to the participants and provide up to 90 minutes individual feedback. The participants will have the opportunity to use current work of interest through the course.

Target Group

The course is for university students and academics alike who have experience in academic writing in their own language and who need to write academic papers in English at the same high level.

Number of Participants

We recommend a maximum of 12 participants per group.

Duration

This is a 30-lesson course with 3 lessons of 45 minutes per session.

Requirement

About 10 days before the start of the course each participant will be asked to submit a text of up to 1,000 words in English.
